CATV converter - Cable TV converter

The CATV converter is integrated in PacketFront's Fibre Termination Unit, FTU, which easily can be connected to the DRG 500 , our customer premises equipment for triple-play services.

In PacketFront's FTTH solution , the CATV converter converts the CATV signal in the fibre to a standard TV antenna outlet. This allows CATV operators to continue offering their CATV services while, at the same time, migrating to an all-IP network which enables the full range of triple-play services. An expansion of the service offering to the full scope of triple-play (TV, telephony and Internet) presents an opportunity for CATV operators to relieve the pressure on CATV as the only revenue carrier.

The CATV converter allows the end users within a household to use multiple TV sets simultaneously, without using set-top-boxes, STB.

Through the CATV converter, CATV operators can benefit from the benefits of PacketFront's automated broadband solution , including the unique combination of the centralised control & provisioning system, BECS™ and the broadband routers, ASR .
