ASR 4000 - Advanced Services Router
PacketFront's automated broadband solution consists
of several integrated products. The central product is BECS™, the integrated
provisioning and control system that acts as the control and decision point in
the network. The ASR 4000 is the policy enforcement point in the network and is
placed as close as possible to the end users. BECS,
together with the ASRs comprises the base for PacketFront's automated broadband solution.
The ASR 4000 are purpose-built
for point-to-point FTTH access and for fast Ethernet broadband
aggregation
. It delivers top of
the line performance and functionality with full multilayer
capabilities, redundancy and manageability with a minimum of
maintenance.
Broadband routers are often placed in areas not dedicated for
electrical equipment. Therefore, the ASR 4000 is constructed to
endure dust, moisture and high temperatures. It has a hardened
design and support for redundant power supply, while lacking
mechanical cooling. These features ensure operation in tough
environments.
The ASR 4000 series of purpose-built
broadband routers, which are controlled by the BECS
system, exist in several versions:
