BECS - Control and Provisioning System
BECS™ is the central control and provisioning system of PacketFront’s automated broadband solution. It provides network owners with unique capabilities when controlling network elements and services in advanced triple-play networks, such as:
- Element management, including automated element software control and upgrades.
- Condition controlled element configuration management.
- Network topology awareness for end-to-end service quality control.
- Element and link IP address management.
- Network statistics (e.g. for Service Level Agreements, troubleshooting, billing, and other vital areas).
If existing service provisioning support systems are not available or if time to market is important, BECS also includes important service control functions:
- Authentication and authorization of users, clients and services.
- Service access and control.
- Service policy provisioning, on demand or scheduled.
- Providing a Mediation Point for integration with external third-party OSS/BSS systems and to the Broadband Business Engine (BBE).
BECS provides automation in the control of end-users, services and network elements, all in one system. This ensures excellent cost efficiency in operating a triple-play network. We believe that automation is the key to profitability!
Through BECS’ capability of providing fine-grained control, special treatment can be given for each individual service, allowing advanced service differentiation.
Security, traceability, QoS, IP address management, and restrictions to multicast services – all vital areas in the distribution of triple-play services – are all included in BECS.
The system is highly scalable and ensures high availability, making it ideal for both small-scale and large-scale broadband deployments. Easy and cost-efficient integration with existing 3rd party OSS/BSS systems are catered for at the BECS Mediation Point, ensuring a future-proof system that can interact with all the business-critical systems of a network owner or a service provider.
