Fiberdata and PacketFront strengthen their co-operation in the Swedish broadband market.
Fiberdata and PacketFront strengthen their co-operation in the Swedish broadband market. Fiberdata will be PacketFront’s prime system integrator for all products and solutions in the Swedish market. Fiberdata sees the opportunity to expand its market share in the delivery of equipment and solutions for municipalities as well as for communities with PacketFront’s leading-edge product portfolio.
The increasing demand for IP services and more advanced applications in broadband networks require a higher level of skill and expertise from the system integrator. Many networks operators have multi-technology environments such as fiber, wireless and xDSL and consequently have difficulty supplying high quality services consistently across their networks. This causes an increasing number of service delivery issues as well as network upgrade and maintenance issues. Increasingly, network operators are outsourcing the maintenance and operation of their network and this has led to an intensified co-operation between PacketFront and Fiberdata in order to resolve these issues.
‘We are very pleased about the co-operation with Fiberdata. Fiberdata has excellent multi-technology skills as well as experience and knowledge of PacketFront’s portfolio and the new aggregation solution. Our aggregation solution is designed for network operators to aggregate existing 3rd party equipment in order to ensure smooth service delivery in a mixed technology, and mixed vendor network environment,’ says Jürgen Persson Business Development at PacketFront.
Fiberdata has established its control- and maintenance center in a secure former military base location built into a mountain-side in Gävle, which is approximately 200 km north of Stockholm.
‘Our new control centre is manned 24h/7 days and we have much experience integrating and running large scale networks. PacketFront’s solution and its market presence have already attracted many new customer groups,’ says Christer Brunström, CEO of Fiberdata.
Both parties believe that there will be a consolidation in the Swedish municipality broadband market and an increasing number of networks will merge or be acquired. As this occurs, it will be necessary to integrate process and systems in order to harmonize service delivery for the end-user. PacketFront’s solution and Fiberdata’s expertise guarantee that as networks consolidate, end-users will have access to high-quality uninterrupted service delivery.
