Niclas Sonesson appointed as new CEO of PacketFront
Niclas Sonesson, one of the founders of PacketFront, is taking over the role as CEO from Martin Thunman who becomes Vice Chairman of the Board of the company.
PacketFront, the pioneers of open-access broadband networking, appoints Niclas Sonesson as new CEO. Niclas Sonesson is one of the founders of PacketFront and has held positions as CTO and COO of the company. Sonesson has a long experience from working with very large networks, something that is of particular importance now that the company is developing a partly new market strategy.
"PacketFront has been very successful within the area of open-access networks and has won a number of deals with property developers and city networks", says Niclas Sonesson. "We will continue in the same direction, but we also see great opportunities in working more towards telecom operators. This puts new demands on us that we must focus on, for example that our solutions more easily can coexist with other suppliers' equipment in large networks."
"During my seven years as CEO we have gone from a "garage start-up company" to an established market leader in our niche market with more than 400.000 FTTH ports shipped in EMEA", says Martin Thunman. "Taking the company to the next level will require an increased focus on operational excellence, areas that Niclas has a natural talent for. My personal key interests and strengths are in the marketing and sales areas and in my new role as Vice Chairman I will be able to focus more on developing strategic partnerships and key customer relationships."
